Ableton Course update

Hi,

This is just a quick update to let forum members know what's going on with the Ableton Course.

I had originally planned to get it out in the end of Fall but due to mastering workload I was unable to.

I've now planned to take care of this over the holiday break while things slow down a bit so everyone can expect the course to be completed very early in the new year, I'm hoping for late January at the latest.

In the meantime hope everyone enjoys their holidays and see you in the new year.

I'm pretty excited to get it out as well. I'm looking to do a major push this weekend. I have the track in question pretty much ready, it will also include vocals from one of Australia Idol finalists as it's a remix I'm working on.

I hope to have all the main videos done this weekend and then just need to flesh out the other bits next week.

I'm keen to get this out by my end of the month deadline or something close after.

What I will probably do is open the doors next week to the list subscribers at the reduced rate they get so they can get started. I will be adding extra modules after the initial release but I dont want to keep people waiting any longer.


Price wise after looking at all the content that will be on offer, this wont just be a set of videos but a bit more of a holistic approach with 'bonus' resources to go along with the main course covering the entire production method of the song from start to finish.

Video length on its own should easily be above the 3 hour mark, maybe more as I seem to make long videos by nature and there's going to be a load of stuff to cover.

Final price after the initial release will be $99, but for the list members it will be $67, which is over 30% off, I had originally planned for 20% but decided to give them more of a break as the final cost came out to be a bit higher than I initially planned for.

For me to cover the same info in my online training sessions would probably take at least 6 hours time if not more, I have spent 2 hours with someone just going over a few of the same type of tricks I'll be showing in this course.

Plus you will get to go over them whenever needed along with all the written information and other graphics, charts. Finally there will be a private forum for anyone's questions.

So value wise it will be a great deal and much nicer than paying 999$ from one of the other online schools that just covers one of the aspects this one will do.

Jesse, I'm just wondering how useful the course will be for people who don't use Ableton? Is it quite specific or will it be quite generalised and helpful for those using Cubase etc

Hi good question. It's not really a 'how to use ableton' course but more like 'how to make a track' (which happens to be in Ableton). That being said the initial one will only use Ableton plugins but I will be doing extra sections using 3rd party ones.

I'd say though probably about 80-90% of it would translate to other DAWs though although that would depend somewhat on your knowledge of Cubase and being able to perform similar operations in Cubase as I have in Ableton.

After a little break from this Ableton course I'm also interested in doing a Cubase specific one as well. Maybe taking the track I made in Live and reproducing it in Cubase.
