Anyone using Mediafire or Megaupload paid accounts?
#1
I've been a fan of Sendspace for a while but they've now started to use automatic forwarding to pages with ads which is annoying. Have considered using a paid scheme. Does anyone know if there is a paid services where people uploading to you as well as downloading can benefit or does it only work one way?

I have a Rapidshare acc. for about 3 years now and it's great. €16 for a 3 month subscription which i think is a bargain. You can keep track of downloads too which is nice Smile

Just read your post again lol

When people download stuff from your RS acc. You get rapidpoints for each download which you can change for an extended account or you can add to your download traffic (Direct Downloads).

As for upload, not sure if it's possible for RS :S

I'm fookin confusing myself writing this lol

That makes two of us confused now Big Grin

I'm going to try doing my own uploader again, browser based instead of ftp. I just had problems before with some people in the UK accessing the server (perhaps due to Mediatemple being located in the US). Maybe those problems have been sorted out now though.

If ya can, please keep the ftp option open. Sometimes the browser-based uploaders can be a little ambiguous to whether or not the file was actually uploaded. I like being able to see what's going on with my ftp client. Or sometimes for me, browser uploads/downloads can be a bit slow compared to my ftp (prob a bug I should work out) Thx

Ok good to know. I think it's possible to write the browser uploaded in a way to display what's been completed. If anything my uploads are faster using browser based, ftp always seems to have a limit of 40k/sec even with the speed limit turned off in the ftp client.

Ok took the plunge and got a Pro Sendspace account as they have a dropbox. Max upload 1.5gig per file which is nice.
