Built in EQ's

are the EQ's built into each channel in cubase as good as running waves, urs, sonalksis, etc. eq's? does it save any cpu usage if you run those vs. a vst. i mean is it like running a midi effect where it doesn't hit the cpu at all?

It uses cpu for sure, they are pretty light though. I generally stay away from them but I've seen and heard of guys using them and getting decent results. I don't like the guis at all though.

The urs are pretty light anyhow, same with sonalksis. Don't think you're gaining much by using Cubases at all in that area.
