Dusty Kid - A Raver's Diary
#1
I find there is a fine line between musical bliss and abrasive noise and dusty kid stomps all over that line.

I really got into a few of his tracks last year, and then some more recent stuff didn't do it for me as much. However, his new artist album is looking pretty solid. He has such a unique sound and I just love his synthy melodies.

Big ups Dusty Kid!

Anyone had a chance to see him live? He came to Toronto once, but it wasn't really properlly promoted and I didn't even know. He's rumored to be back here by years end, so fingers crossed.

i <3 cowboys and it sounds like there could be a new mix of it on that album

whats up with his basslines and how does he make his melodies change in pitch like that?

edit: i'm not sure what i'm trying to ask about his melodies, basically why are they so good and present sounding?

I think the reason why is overall his tracks generally don't use too many sounds at once. He goes for a fairly simple but clean beat and then one or two solid sounds on top.

Seen him and met him, once solo and once as Duoteque. Been digging their sound for a good 4-5 years. He's a nice guy, quite young, he even played one of my tracks the last time he was here. You gotta love the bassline on "Adyra" check it out if you don't know it.
