Just an idea for ya Medway. Not necessarily for a thread, but maybe as a separate page for your website.
Every now and then you give some good advice on a particular plugin. Like recently, you mentioned if you have a copy of Voxengo's Pristine Place and Acousticas 480L library, then that's all you'd really need for a Reverb.
I thought it would be cool if you came up with a special section with your recommendations of the best plugins to use. (hardware as well) Not something super deep in scope, but like, your more common ones. (reverb, chorus, delay, flanger, distortion, phaser, all-in-one fx unit, master compressor, etc....) Granted, everyone has their favorites and some depend on the kind of music/sound you're trying to create, but in general as a starting point, it would be great to have a more or less comprehensive list to look at. And to make it useful to everyone, perhaps have it according to price. (Expensive price, moderate price, free)
With all the plugins out there, it gets daunting sometimes which ones to try out, no less buy. For example, I'd never thought about using Voxengo's Pristine Space until just now. Would have loved to know about it long ago.
Would hope to see something like this. I'd be more than happy to give my contribution of the ones i like.
