New Free Brainworx Plugin
#1
This one is simple, but could be a great general LP/HP filter.

From the email sent to me:

bx_cleansweep... new FREE plug-in out next week!

Another FREE plug-in from BX, out next week. New lo-pass & hi-pass filter, introducing BX´s "anti-crush" 6 dB lp-filter, taken from bx_digital V2. HP & LP filters are the key to pro mixing results, use them on any channel to clean up your mix!

this stuff looks pretty cool. Does anyone use the BX digital V2? Looks like it could be a solid addition to my aresenal.

thoughts? Jesse I think I remeber you use something brainworks for the m/s functionality.

Installed these and started using today. I like the meter a lot, its solid and has a mono button which as first I thought was just for the meter but it actually monos out the audio too which is great to have and convenient.

I think the dynamic range meter will probably be a permanent addition to the end of my master buss.

The filter one is pretty cool too, nice and gradual, I'm more of a fan of low q/6db style filters recently so this works well. The control is somewhat fiddly for fine tuning but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Havent looked at their v2 one yet but ya they are good for m/s including the solo and control plugs they have.

Yeah, I was curious how to properly use the DR meter. After reading this post, I was pretty clear what it's use is.

Granted, it's probably mostly useful for mastering engineers, but still a good thing to have and learn.

Oh, and here's a link to the manual for both offline and real-time:

just saw this reply.. I don't actually use the rms much for determining levels. I've learned that generally it's just not that good of an indicator other than basic levels. there's stuff that still sounds punchy and full with rms levels that are way up there, it all depends on the style and composition of the track.

for me the most useful bits of this plug are the mono switch and correlation meter.
