Online Collaborations?

Are there any leading websites for bringing together artists for collaborations? I think for every song I finish, I probably have 15 unfinished tracks; often because there's just something 'not right'. I've been thinking that getting another take on it from another producer could help finish some, but nobody to speak of around me to do that.

I've been searching for a website, but haven't found anything well organized. Like, search for people by location, genre, etc.. Would be a cool website for someone to create if no one has yet. Just post up your unfinished track and let people proposition ya. Or just put out a call for a collab and post links to your previous work and then hook up with someone.

Should have mentioned...the best one I've been able to find so far is http://www.kompoz.com It's a fairly solid attempt at getting artists together, but leaves a lot to be desired. You can search by genre in general, but doesn't get very deep into sub-genres. Actually, I don't even feel they have a grasp on what sub-genres are in EDM, but whatever. Beyond that, once you find a new project, there's nothing to tell you what the artist is needing until you go deeper into it. So you end up wasting a lot of time.

I think if someone could put out a site similar to this, but more orderly, with a comprehensive search function....then they'd be on to a great idea. I think someone here needs to get on it!

The profile section I'm adding this week will be able to be used for something like this.

You can enter in any genre you want. And then I can make that searchable. Will also have a map of users by location.

It has ability to upload both songs and files for instance patches and sessions. You can make those viewable by either anyone whos got a profile or just 'friends'.

And then for each file you can have descriptions basically as long as you need to describe it.

Maybe I should add some sort of flag for people interested in collabs so it's easier to search by. What I could do is have an option for each song to list is as needing a collab so you can search that way. And maybe put a genre there too.

If you give me a list of genres I can add those to a drop down.

I'll also have the shoutbox on the main page so people can post there if they put up a new song that others should check out as well as for instance 'looking for collab'.

I'll have a preliminary version up this week and from there you can make some suggestions to do what you want.

The actual profile section itself is basically finished at this point just need to code the main page that lists all the profiles with search ability etc..
