I have a Korg Z1 for about 6 yearz.. i havent ever ever programmed 1 sound on it yet! i tried a coupla editorz and couldnt seem 2 easily reset tha oscilatorz 2 like nothing.. or get 2 a base/1 oscilator sound.. i promptly gave up.. nice keyboard action tho.. i hope that 1 day i will make a sound with it.. apparently it'z Morales'z fave synth so.. i dont know if u catz on PC have tha TalUgo stuff.. they are really rippin and they just bought out a Sh-101 style emu.. i advise all 2 check.. they're free!
Thanks for the headsup, hadn't seen these guys before. Checked the 106 emu, sounded ok until the resonance was added (as per the demos). Downloading the 101 now to check that.
Currently I use hardware synths but have been interested in picking up a good SoftSynth. I guess my only real experience with SoftSynths is the stuff that Logic comes with. I'm particularly fond of the EVP88, but I can never seem to use it as is. I usually end up layering it with a recorded electric piano of some sort
I use mostly softsynths except for my Alesis Ion...its got a pretty phat sound to it...although its still all digital...
anyone ever use any of the Dave Smith stuff?...I heard the mono evolver is REALLY PHAT sounding...and I've read some impressive reviews on the new Prophet 08
Both software and hardware here, T, Dave Smith's gear is top quality, i currently own a DSI Polyevolver, there isnt enough I can say about that beast, plus its the best of both worlds digital and analog.
It is extremely PHAT when you want it to be, if you ever get a chance to play with one, you'll be blown away.
The Prophet is just as sick unfortunately I havent had much experience with it but the few times i have played with it, it has stood up to its name, not that I would expect anything less form DSI.
Dave and Roger Linn have an analog/digital drum machine coming out in a year which should also be ear candy.

Of course I understand. The Forat updates mainly got rid of all the bugs and added a sampling card, more memory, etc. Truth is I didn't know how to program this beast, so I brought it to Orlando one time an Jesse got it up and running, then we did our first track with it.
I remember reading about Boomchik, seemed pretty nice. This thing is even nicer.
Here's a pic of my machine. If there is just one feature to wish for having on the Linn 9000, it is the USB connectivity. That would make all the difference in the world.
