Powerfull kick with low freq
#1
Hi guys.

I like this totally low kick that Angello uses so often (maybe even overue ,every new production started to sound the same in terms of basic kick sound and bass sound also prob made of kick)
But thats not the point,i like how low those kicks hit, leaving a lot of space for higher freq. sounds. And still it sounds so powerfull .

Anyone knows how to contruct such kick ?
I guess i should start with EQ and cut higher freq. of kick sound

It's pretty much just an 808 kick with some layering. But the deep part is the 808. Try multing the kick and processing each later separate until you get something with enough punch.

Hell i just checked my goldbaby samples 808 and i bet that he also used couple of their files from this collection.sounds exactly the same, really not much processing will be needed

I have to remember how I did the kick on that, it's a less bassy kick as the bassline is heavy. Maybe I can find the sample somewhere.

Could be they do or just used an 808 but processed it similar. I have also made a good 808 kick using multiband on a Goldbaby 808 to make it even stronger.

yeah, looks like i will have to spend som time on just layering some of those kicks and trying to combine something nice

Just keep working on it and when you get something cool sample it with your settings for later use. I have some kicks from previous projects that I made that came out well so I just bounce them down and reuse later.

any thoughts on where it should be hitting on the meters? I've noticed that a lot of the kicks i like tend to hit about 15-20db around 50hz.

thoughts?

Depends on the meter but the one I use it's about 9-12db. If it's an 808 type kick then it's pretty much all fundamental freq so you'll get a concentrated peak.
