Understanding the Multi-Band Compressor
#11
Thanks so much for the help Medway. That all makes sense and gets me closer to understanding what the hell I'm donig. Smile

One final question I have is regarding your advice on the kick. Can you add what you are saying is missing from my kick or is it something that is missing entirely from the kick and cannot be added by way of EQing? Could I just boost in the 50hz range? I guess its all about the original sample of the kick or is it? Thanks again for all your help! Smile

Magnus,

Good question about the kick. You are right that generally it's not a good idea to rely solely on eq to get that low end, it can be hard to 'manufacture' it this way. Without hearing the original kick it's hard to tell what freq's it's comprised off but have a play with the eq and if that doesn't work then maybe it is best to find another kick.
