I have to say this forum is great! there is no belittling, ridiculing, talking down to. i joined gearslutz to read up on gear and ask a few questions and all it seems to be is a bunch of basement producers tearing into anyone who has a different opinion or a question they see as stupid. i shouldn't be so general, there are some REALLY big names over there and they do seem to be quiet nice and helpful as long as they don't get to deep into techno-babble.....
it's really nice to know not matter how sophomoric or noob of a question i post here, i am going to get some honest help and or advice.

I use to frequent GS as well but also got sick of it. Too many armchair guys and too much attitude. And to be honest I got sick of all the 'gear' talk. There's guys buying thousands worth of high end stuff and then you hear the mix and realize the lack of gear is not their problem.

I also think a lot of those guys make up for lack of actually credits in the industry by berating people to boost their egos. When I taught at that school there was the same issue.

So ya this forum was made specifically to not be that kind of experience.

There is some great info over there and I'm not trying to be negative towards them either, just how I see it over all though.
