one of my favorite topics...
what's everyone's favorite native compressor for 1. drum buss, 2. master buss ?
does anyone use a hardware compressor for mastering?
i'm thinking about picking up a few new plugs soon and wanted to hear what everyone's using.

Plugs wise you cant go wrong with Glue. Since I picked that up it's all I use now other than the occasional Sonnox compressor in classic mode.
Glue works well in both drum buss and master buss duties. It's very tweakable.

Ok, Medway...now WHY didn't you tell us about this compressor earlier!?!?!?!?? I just tried out the demo and damn it sounds good! And for the price ($99) it's well worth it. I've been reading some comparisons of Glue vs. the Waves version. Most seem to think it's better in terms of transparency, although some like the 'sound characteristics' the waves version adds. For me though, at that price, it's really a no-brainer. Thanks for the share!

Btw, Medway, what do you typically use "The Glue" for? Mastering, drums, all around, etc.?

Hehe sorry thought I had mentioned it before. I got it back in the paid beta period which was a few months ago I guess..
But ya since then this is pretty much all I use now. It's just so tweakable I can get it to do a lot of things on top of the fact that the overall sound is very nice.
This is made by the same guy who had a hand in the fxPansion synths that are coming out (if they havent already).
He really seems to know his stuff and good support as well.
