Soundtoys - Echoboy
#1
I just got hip to and purchased the TDM ver. of this delay plugin and must say it's exactly what i've been looking for all these years in an echo plugin.

With a few tweaks I had my echo sounding like the ElectroHarmonix Memory Man as heard on Medway's classic 'My Release'

Nice one, a classic track. I was actually looking at this device online today.

congrats, soundtoys stuff is top notch, ive been using a couple of their native plugins for years and the results always surprise me.

Their speed plug in is the best offline time-streching tool ive used inside protools, ive always got it open on the screen for quick access and is my go to plug in for time streching.

if im not mistaken the programmers behind soundtoys used to write the algorithms for eventide at one point.

Nice, I love my Eventide. You can send two separate sounds through a really long delay patch and vary the input volumes of each and hear the Eventide just blend the two delayed sounds smooth like butter. Lesser gear or devices do abrupt cutoffs or produce artifacts.

Sven which eventide? the 8000 or the eclipse

i played with the eclipse about a year ago, and was very impressed, it lived up to the hype. By the end of the session the sounds coming out of it were demonic to say the least.

The DSP7500. Jesse turned me on to them back in the day so I picked one up.

Nice, I love gear with numeric keypads in them, my xpander has one, and it adds to the playability of the device, adding a new dimension to play with, cause in essence you can step up or down any parameter you want by dialing in the value and hitting the enter button.

Plus vintage numeric keypads look phat

Im wondering if that is the case in the new korg nano keyboard when it is put in CC mode, i havent been able to find any information on the CC mode function.

DSP7500 is a monster of a machine...Congrats w/ that! I do remeber Jesse was into the Eventide algos bigtime. I never had the chance to actually hear the 7500 but have spent a bunch of time with the DSP4000 and loved it.

Yes, i've read that as well. From the Soundtoys site:

"In our 'past', we were responsible for designing some pretty insane effects gear - the H3000 (and all it's various colors) and the DSP4000, way back when we were designers at Eventide. We've somehow managed to morph ourselves from hardware designers to software designers"

The preset 'Echospace of God' sold me on the Eventide.

That's it, I'm picking up the Echoboy!

I was checking these the other day but they still don't have VST versions yet. Speaking of delay plugins Black I just dusted off the old Ohm Boys yesterday which we were the first customers to buy...
