Soundtoys - Echoboy
#11
Bought the native pack and Live is seeing the AU plugs on the Mac but VST versions are on the way they say.

That delay is nice as well as the filters.

Nice, they have that groove delay thing with swing on the delay, although I think Live has one now. Just wonder how the memory man one is, the original was pretty damn lofi sounding and was always on the verge of distorting. In fact half the stuff on Hooj had distortion in the mixes due to it hehe

Hehe, but that distortion was nice distortion. I'll give the memory man setting a go tonight and see if I can drive it hard enough. It's definitely a nice delay though. Good call Blackwatch. Cool

Well it distorts nicely either by increasing the input or the saturation knob. The distortion sounds reminiscent of the Eventide stuff: it's there but not harsh to the point where you can't use it. Also, there is a lot of play left in the knobs from when they first start distorting.

Can't say much on how it compares to an actual Memory Man but I like the results. But it doesn't seem to go unstable like you mentioned.

The original memory man was pretty recognizable in that it had a lot of high end roll off. I'm thinking somewhere down to 3-4k was missing on upwards. It's probably the most lofi delay I've ever used, even compared to the Space echos.

There seems to be a lot of high end roll off without having touched the High Cut knob.

Ah ok. Try to see what kind of chorus and vibrato it does, as the one I had, the deluxe memory man did that really well, used it a lot on pads and stuff.

i think the real Memory Man has a lot more grit and meat to it from what i recall but the EchoBoy does a fine job at getting gritty. The Chorus capabilities are pretty good too. SoundToys makes the 'Tremolator' - Tremolo and Auto-Gate which is also great for the vibrato efx

Ahh yes, the OhmBoys...i still really dig what those crazy Frenchmen are doing
