Ah cool, whats the deal with these, similar to the HR824s?

I'd say they are similar but not as good as the HR824's. They are a new range of monitor from Mackie, probably a stripped down more affordable version. I got mine €520 for the pair plus delivery from London to Dublin so pretty reasonable i thought.
I don't think i'd need anything bigger to be honest, i'm in a medium sized room so they will fit the bill for me i thinks ![]() Got these stats from the site... Mackie MR8 main features include: *Studio monitor with true Active design *Precision Class A/B amplifiers with Active protection circuits: 100W for LF / 50W for HF *HF and LF acoustic controls for room correction *Balanced XLR, TRS and unbalanced RCA inputs *Ultra-low distortion 8-inch steel frame LF transducer *Waveguide loaded 1-inch high-resolution HF transducer *Minimum-diffraction molded baffle for smooth, wide sweet zone *Magnetically shielded for safe placement near computer/video monitor *Precisely tuned for working interchangeably with other MR units The main features of the Mackie HR824 mk2 include: *High-resolution Active studio reference monitor *Ultra-linear frequency response for accurate mix translation *8.75-inch high-precision, low-distortion LF transducer *1-inch titanium dome, ferrofluid cooled tweeter *Optimized Waveguide for wide, even sweet zone *Twin FR Series amps – 150W for LF / 100W for HF *Cast aluminum Zero Edge Baffle minimizes diffraction *Full internal damping eliminates midrange artifacts *Onboard passive radiator extends bass response to 35Hz *Acoustic Space, LF roll-off, and HF controls *Balanced XLR, TRS, and unbalanced RCA inputs *OmniMount ready for easy wall/ceiling placement *THX pm3 certified for surround sound applications Perfect for High Definition audio, cinema and gaming systems I have to admit i did fall i love with the MK2's when i was over with Sven. They just look and sound brilliant!

Gav,
Whats the freq response of those ones? That would be the main thing I'd like to see, as far as how low they can go. The fact they've got a similar size main driver as the 824's would make me think they can go down to 45hz or so though.
