Yet another eq/comp plugin package released, this time by URS.

This ones looks especially interesting due to the fact its providing some saturation/color processing. It's said to emulate tape, tube, and transformer characteristics (possibly through convolution).

For me this is the one thing that's still missing from most of the emulations out there (why I sold my UAD). Will be very interesting to see how this one sounds.

I heard the new channel Pro plug-in sounds amazing...someone actually tried to talk me into getting this instead of the Duende...they A/B'd this with the Duende and the UAD plugs and he said the URS emulations were up there with the Duende's quality... and it blew away all of the UAD plugs

The Duende is basically a port of the SSL C200 digital console, using some of the same algos in fact, which in itself is an emulation of the analog SSL9k. So I'd expect it to be pretty high.

I still don't like the phrase "blew away" though used to compare plugins on these levels. People like to get excited over new products I guess...

The most interesting thing about the new URS is the saturation, a key ingredient most plugs don't do right. Supposedly the UAD stuff has some of that captured but if so its not dynamic so not totaly useful.
