best drumloops sample packs

can anyone recommend something new? I am not totally up to date with these


and i like to have some material to work on,because i love to chop samples,glitch them etc (i wouldnt be able to use original loop because immediately i get a feeling that it is not mine track and erase whole project)



by best i mean your personal recommendations,inspirations etc,where you like to dig in order to find something usefull

This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but worth a look. (Sorry, I don't use drum loops much; I have some sample packs that have them, but I don't pay them much attention)

Here's a link to some MIDI files with a lot of decent drum parts. It comes from the Steven Slate drum website. He's got some pretty good stuff there. It's all band drum stuff, but it can easily be tweaked to fit into dance music. This particular one is called "Jerry Lyons Grooves". I have no idea if this is a free pack or not (I assume so). It comes directly from his website and is in an unprotected directory. Documentation comes with it and says nothing about copyright info.

Possibly try looking for other MIDI drum loops. Personally I think that's a lot better in many cases than chopping a drum loop. You can just add your favorite sounds, tweak it and you're done. It's something I've been doing more recently.

I have your typical Vengeance stuff. I don't use the loops but I do pull samples from them. I like their Future House Vol 1 and 2. I mainly use Thomas Penton's Essential Series for most of my needs. High quality samples to say the least.

i have thomas penton stuff,and yeah,prima sort as we say here.

I dont like those vengrance,because everyone wannabee producer sounds suddenly the same,barely any lazy person edits them at all

I've quit with the Vengeance stuff too, tired of hearing the same thin claps and stuff on all these records. Have been going back to some of my sample cds I got in the 90s as they have chunkier loops and sounds.

I recently picked up the Riemann Kollektion pack. Not very deep, but the samples are extremely high quality. They give you high, mid, and low pieces to use for claps, kicks, & hats.

i much prefer this type of sample pack. Give me 20 amazing samples rather than 2000 mediocre ones to clutter my hard drive

Didn't realize Penton had a new one either although never used his, heard good things about it though.

The Riemann Kollektion seems pretty good for contemporary sounding stuff.

Good point about quality over quantity. Sometimes I'll go through a sample cd and pull out all the good stuff into a new folder. Cuts down the number of samples and makes it easier to find something useful.

Any other suggestions for good loops? I have lots of good sounding single drum hits but I am looking for some good top end loops. Live shakers, hats, ect..

I am also looking for drum loops from the more meaty variety. Tribal, New York House, Viva Music type stuff?

i will try from now on i tihnk cut some loops from various songs,not even house,i have some nice ideas,and then it will be for me just a matter of pitching them up or down and then chopping/processing and changing,might be fun as hell

A great one (hope I didn't mention this already) is the Total Rex pack. It has rex loops from loads of different existing sample packs. There's a lot of latin and tribally stuff in there. Lot's of shakers and percussion.
