Seems good portion, if not all of the loops in this popular sample cd series are rips from already produced songs. Explains why everything sounds pre-eq'd and ready to go.
Attached is a few examples of the loops and the songs they came from.

Interesting, that explains a lot. How did you come about this?

Yeah, I've always wondered about their vocal samples, as they're easy to spot. I'd always thought they had some sort of deal with the labels. Given the ease of spotting a ripped vocal and what you've just shown, how do they not get into trouble? Or basically nobody cares to even try?

Forget how I came across, just randomly searching for something and saw some post about it on another forum. Not really sure about the legal thing, you would think it would be pretty easy to make a case for.

don't think they'd get in trouble as a musical sample to be considered copyright infringment has to be longer than 6 or 8 bars. so a 1 hit wouldn't be an issue. nor would a vocal sample as long as it didn't contain 6 or 8 bars of the actual melody. they'd have to clip an actual trademarked sample to get into any kind of trouble i'd think.

Where did you hear this? I'm pretty sure this isn't the case unless some new law is in effect. James Browns lawyers used to sue for a single snare drum. And plenty of people have gone to court over 1 bar loops in hiphop.

They've got a new Clubsounds vol 3 out and states it's not sourced from any rips so I guess the criticism was taken into account for this one.

Ive heard bout this series for a while, looked into it some months ago. I was wondering if any of you guys had any good suggestions for vocal sample cds?
(much in the style of older terra ferma tracks, or indiginous vocal articulations, as opposed to the run of the mill oohs ahs and yaaaaay)
thanx for any info in advance

Not sure if there are any decent vocal ones. These guys make one though so check it out.
