using basslane plug-in
#1
so if you're using this free plug-in is there a general freq you should set it for on the a kick and on a bassline? is it totally subjective? also does it have a floating point or do you need to keep the meters out of the red?:confused:

I generally run it around 300hz at least, you can go a bit higher even.

I believe it does, most plugins do, there are just a few exceptions like Battery 2. In fact I have to always catch myself with Battery as I'm so used to other plugins not having that issue.

Some of the older URS plugins were too but now I think they are 48 double precision.

If you're ever in doubt just ram a sine way through a plug and you'll hear it easily.

You can deffinitely come down from 800-1k. Be aware though that around 300-500 or so you've got frequencies that can be muddy so be careful on pushing these out too much. You can also try going even more extreme up to say 3-4k or higher. It really depends on what other elements are going on.
