also you mention the GM map for the kick is C1 and so is the first cell in Battery.
so what exactly is the C1 for? it's not the pitch or key of the sample, so is it if i hit C1 on my keyboard/midicontoller, it'll fire the sample (so could i set to anything i want)? i know a newbie question but wanted to ask.
also do you use the rest of the GM map, and Battery, for the rest of your drum parts?

Hmmm not sure about that one, never had a problem with that. What exactly do you mean by 'new' though.

Yes it's the key that triggers it. And if you set the pitch to "Track" then it uses that note to pitch the sample as well.

cool i get it.
by "new" i meant the new sample i'm making by mashing all these kicks together. the volumn seems very quiet.

The volume should be anything but quiet. What is a single samples volume like? Unless you are severely hi-passing it the volume should be fairly loud.

What happens when you just load a single sample? Should right away be pretty much peaking at 0dbFS since most of those are normalized.
