Excellent analog vs digital mix comparison

A short video and then some examples showing a real ssl mix and one done on pro tools with the waves plugins. Close your eyes and try to tell the difference between the two ;-)

that is freakin' awesome!! i listened to the "alternative rock" sample.
not much noticable difference. I've got a TON of hearing damage from playing drums for over 15 years and DJ'ing. the only noticeable difference to me was the analoge vs. sounded a bit more flat or mid range-y to me (in my experience people call that warmth but i call it box-y and at high volumes it hurst my ears.....).
this is also why i've been making sure my bands have recorded in a digital format for years. Lenny (Kravitz) and i argued about it for years before he quit using tape machines.....

Every time I thought I could hear it, it was due to looking at the screen. When I closed my eyes I was lost.

I agree though that at this time I actually prefer digital mixes in some cases.
