holy crap i started reading this thread and was getting a little nervous! Everyone is talking about 80's/NuWave/SynthPop/Electonica bands and I've got Sex Pistols playing in the background, ha-ha.
I started out playing progressive rock (sigh, yes i was in a Rush clone band, ugh) and from there went all over the place. Punk, metal, jazz, and finally landed playing in bands that were somewhere between alternative and indie rock.
Listening pleasures, I've gotta say it's a large smattering of everything every day. Literally from Slayer to Beethoven to Dave Brubeck to Jay-Z on permanent shuffle on my iPod or iPhone.
I guess lately i have been slanted more towards really intelligent jungle and straight up indie rock. A Silent Film, We were promised Jet Packs, Dinosaur Jr, Metric, Interpol.
I'm with Meds on Burial. Just amazing programming and production. Archangel still just floors me.
I've also really gotten into Four Tet and Pantha Du Prince's latest albums. I wish Sascha Funke would release another full album as well.

Oh and i still have a lot of cassettes, not just mix tapes but full albums. and one full shelf of my record collection has nothing to do with House at all. I have all of Led Zeppelins catalog on vinyl. Plus pressings of The Clash - Combat Rock, Yes - 90125, Dokken - Tooth & Nail (weird i know), Exploited, GBH, TSOL, etc.
