I "can't" upgrade to a copy of 4 until Meds does cause i have him mixdown all my orig's and rmx's (and don't see that changing ANYTIME soon) and as we all know you can't open a newer vs. file on an older vs.
after researching and searching countless forums, message boards, etc. it does seem to be a problem exclusive to Cubase SX3 (even though they have the "dual processors" check box). i built a system that was WAY ahead of Steinberg at the time.
From what i've read, in Cubase 4 it's "solved". I'm sure there are some issues still but since their (Steinbergs) focus is now on 4, the fixes will come very fast.
I've been drumming and recording in bands since i was 13 so that was my secondary focus. I've worked exclusively in Protools on Macs for that(since about, i wanna say 94-95) and due to and having NO experience in writting/producing techno i kinda got ahead of myself (and the particular DAW i use) without researching it fully.
so, no harm, no foul just have to find work arounds, which i am. I really appreciate all your guys input and help with narrowing this down!!!
it's been invaluable!
(excuse my spelling!!!)
