Is anyone consistently runing these or similar pulg-ins on mutltiple tracks or the master? or is it just not needed with techno?

  panning/groups etc

HEy guys, 1st post so be gentle lol Smile

WAs just curious as to how you group/pan the various parts of your tracks...I make my kick & bass and then send them both to a mono group channel then add eq, compression. is this correct?

Do you also stereo group your other drum/percussion tracks together and put a compressor over them all or dya process them separately?

And as for panning, the SX3 panner goes from '100' Left to Centre to '100' Right... So say for eg. we are panning various percussion sounds about, does panning them just '1' or '2' to the Left or Right really make a difference, or should they be panned '20' or '30' to be worthwhile?

And while im at it... ... should i use things like Waves stereo imager caringly or just hammer it and spread everything out?

cheers

Paul

Good Lord i've posted a ton of questions in the last 48hrs....sorry about that.
Ok, OT, so if i'm running multiple monitors, how do i get say a VST, Plug-in, channel mixer, etc. to show up on the other monitor? i can't drag or use the NVidia tool that sends it to the other monitor.
thanks.:o

Posted by: Bitfiend - 06-18-2008, 03:11 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

so if i have software that spans multiple disks, i've backed up the iso files but have lost the disks; does anyone know how to run them with ISOBuster if the 2nd disk on, does not have .exe files? just the first file does.
they were on dvd's but i can't reburn them as they are bigger than a dvd now???

  Built in EQ's

are the EQ's built into each channel in cubase as good as running waves, urs, sonalksis, etc. eq's? does it save any cpu usage if you run those vs. a vst. i mean is it like running a midi effect where it doesn't hit the cpu at all?

Let me know if anyone is looking for either as i've got both to sell.
mackie is 8 months old, little use, perfect condition and has a dust cover.
the MPC is mint, used very little and about a year old.
Neither have ever left my studio.

  a completely useless post....
Posted by: Bitfiend - 06-17-2008, 03:44 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I have to say this forum is great! there is no belittling, ridiculing, talking down to. i joined gearslutz to read up on gear and ask a few questions and all it seems to be is a bunch of basement producers tearing into anyone who has a different opinion or a question they see as stupid. i shouldn't be so general, there are some REALLY big names over there and they do seem to be quiet nice and helpful as long as they don't get to deep into techno-babble.....
it's really nice to know not matter how sophomoric or noob of a question i post here, i am going to get some honest help and or advice.
inhale blue, exhale pink, ok i'm done venting.
