Haha ya. I always do a little game on beatport where I see how many of the songs in the chart I can click the previews on and make them sound like one song. It's amazing to see 3-4 in a row where you can click back and forth and they all sound like they are part of the same one.
I put some of the blame on DJ's not being adventurous enough, I think people just want easy to mix stuff and the best way to do that is play tracks that all sound the same.

I say let's bring back that 8th note sound.

I vote we all make a track in this style and have someone cut them up and put them together in Jesse's aforementioned way. (just randomly cut chunks from each one) I'm sure it would be a hit. Or at the very least, the same as everything else...which basically, will make the top 10 list...
:p

Hehe just might work. If anyone wants to try the Beatport game you can also do an 'air' crossfader with one hand everytime you switch back and forth to make it more authentic ;-)

Would be great to make a sample cd with just 'tika-tika-tika-tika-tika-tika-tika-tika-tika-tika-tika-tika-" loops
