Are you guys regularly using one? does it increase workflow?
I've hooked up my UC-33e and when i need a break or have some time have been messing around with it. I've got a ways to go to get over the learning curve but i'm wondering if it really is gonna speed things up any?

I find it really helps when you make controller changes like filter sweeps and the like. Kind of gives it more of a natural feel. Many times though I'll go back and edit with the mouse.
I don't use the control surface for mixing, usually automation does the trick.

that can be done with a midi controller can't it?

i'm kinda thinking about trying it for mixing. it's going to lay down automation that i can go back and edit with mouse/keyboard, correct?

I don't like these things for mixing too much, just the odd filter or synth automation, and even then only when I've got to do two parameters at once (which would be impossible with a mouse).
If you've got a few layers to mix and you want to do a nice transition between them then maybe it would be handy though.

hmm, food for thought for sure. I learned SX3 with my mouse/keyboard and midi controller. seems to work fine for me. maybe i'll just stick with that instead of messing around with the U-33e.

When I've tried using a controller it's fun for a few hours, then I go back to the mouse...
