best software reverb?
#21
I have to admit I have learned my lesson over the years...My first impulse was to buy the Ik CSR cause I couldnt get the desired result out of Space designer...after posting I downloaded few IR's and got optimal sound I was looking for. So I guess its good to experiment as much as you can with what you already have and ask for advise before you pull out your credit card.Smile

Oh man, me too! although it took me more than once.....hehe.

i believe you said you had the Oxford Reverb already? I personally really like that and the Audio Damage stuff. the Oxford you can literally spend hours dialing in as it has so many options.

yeah...I was feeling like an idiot, having Space designer and Sonnox reverb and not using them at all ....for now I will use SD and will learn to use the Sonnox...between the 2 I should get what I need

I'm really eyeing these Lexi 300 impules from Acoustias.net. The demos sound pretty good. I've got some L300 ones in Altiverb already but these guys seemed to have really tweaked them.

Ya good on you then Zeb, always the best way.

Bitfiend Wrote:man, after reading thru this thread, i gotta admit reverb - rack or plug-in, is reverb. and i by no means am being a smart-arse about this. Granted some freeware and/or cheaper plugs will just be inherently crappy. additionally, some racks have a very specific "sound" quality, as Jesse mentioned Lexi always has; but that was also one of the big reasons why it became a staple in the recording industry (same with their delays)

Agreed, with the exception of the EMT 250 Foil or EMT 140 plate or proper Spring Verb like the Fisher SpaceXpander. A good plate has such a real depth to it that's almost indescribable

absolutely agree, i mis-spoke (possibly). there really isn't anything like a good plate reverb, especially an vintage one. however my only experience with one only applies to recording in a band setting.

zebastian21 Wrote:Question is: should I get the CSR reverb or I would be wasting money since I have Logic's and Sonnox reverbs?
if using the Logic and or Sonnox reverbs....anyone mind to share which presets would work good as starting point for dance music?
opinions about CSR?

I don't know much about CSR but like Bitfiend said, Oxford is doing it for me at the moment. The Pre-Delay and Early Reflections can add tremendous pump to your drum buss etc. and the fact it has a great EQ built-in is a major +

I got the Lexi 300 impulses from Acousticas.net and so far pretty pleased with them, Chris was really quick in getting them to me as well for a session that day so seems like a cool company.

The acousticas.net was the company i was trying to reference before but was too braindead to think of the name at the time.

I have the LXP15 if anyone wants to make good use of it. Sitting in my closet right now.
