To all those Soundtoys owners just got an email about Decapitator is now part of the new V4 pack, only $99 for the upgrade and includes another new plug, Panman along with a new preset manager. Hoping the preset manager takes care of the Live 8 issue of manual preset loading.

Felt like Decapitator suited guitar and rockier stuff more but for $99 can't really complain along with the rest of the stuff in V4.

The Ableton Live 8 course was launched to list members not to long ago and today it's live on the main page without needing to sign up to the list:

Ableton Live Training

Comments so far have been very positive so pleased about that.

Coming soon will be a remake of the track using some 3rd party plugins like Predator and SoundToys, some of my favourite plugins.

Additionally there will be a new track that I'll cover, more in the deep house style for those wanting to produce this type of genre.

The current length of the videos is just over 5 hours but as you can see there's still quite a bit coming up.

For those interested, they're giving away free loops for a limited time. They're ripped from their various sample packs as probably more of a promo than anything else. But whatever, if they're usable, they're usable.

From the website......

As a big 'Thank You' to all of our fans and subscribers we are giving away this exclusive pack of free audio loops, samples and multi patches, and the best part? They are all 100% Royalty Free!

But hurry! This collection is only downloadable for a limited period of time! Inside you will find a genre-busting selection of over 500Mb of high-quality loops from from both up-coming and new releases such as NYC Piano Sessions, Dubstep Nation, Ghetto House Grooves, Orchestral Scores and many more!

Hi,

I'm new here and thought I would put up some of my recent projects to get some feedback. I'm still working on tuning my mixing and mastering, and have a long way to go. So any constructive critisicm would be welcome-

Energon - Enter the sky - ambient

Energon - Extend your life - ambient

Heres 2 other projects in other genres:

Kanix Cane - Sunset - some kind of trance/dance

Mellony - Go away (remix) - dance

kindly regards

For those who liked the original cleansweep, they've made an update. Looks like they've added a gain control, phase reverse, and a little meter on the right. That looks about it, unless they added something under the hood.

well i myself engaged into mastering,i mean totally amateur way ,as i feckin felt that i have to learn something in thisw area and i can say that i create now really qualitywise good sounding stuff

but i want to learn about stereo imaging more now.

In my mixes i rely only on panning to make the sound fill the area, but i would like to know, for example from medway or any other user that done it before, how do you work with spatial processors, stereo imaging plugins etc in order to enhance maximalyl sounds ,still making it totally compatible with clubs sound systems

how do you apply it,when ,in which part of mix

on my easy tihnking mind i would say taht i wantd to

apply spatial processing on raw ,uncompressed mix first, and export it to wav

and then process it through mastering chain

or maybe i think in totally wrong way applying it on final mix and i should take care about it during mixing stage ?

Hi,
Am new to your forum and found it really interesting. I thought I could get an expert's advice on two of my tracks...Here they are,
1. Who We Are_Iven Kriss (Genre: Trance )

2. Avatar_Iven Kriss (Genre: Trance)

I'd be happy to hear your comments and thanks in advance for your attention and time...

I've managed to stay away from looking at new plugins after last years research ended up with me buying URS and Soundtoys so figured I'd give my wallet a little break.

At a recent students session though somehow I got onto Softube's site and see their Tube Tech emulation is now available for Native:

http://www.softube.com/tubetech_cl1b.php

A bit pricey but supposedly it's an excellent model.

Even more interesting to me is their upcoming Trident A eq:

http://www.softube.com/

The Daking pre amp/eq I use for analogue mastering sessions is a hardware copy of this same unit so will be interesting to see how it stacks up.

Supposedly they've modeled the saturation which is a key feature for me when sending mixes through.

hi everyone, had a few questions about vocals....

where do producers get quality vocals from? do they know ppl that can sing and record them?

what are the limitations on sampling? if you find an old record, or track, how much of someone's vocal can you legally use? and in what ways?

haven't had much luck with sample packs and such
